Identify which reference is missing
Keep the transaction date and any bank reference, portal payment reference, RTI registration number and email acknowledgement. Mark which item is missing. These records describe different stages; a bank debit alone does not confirm final submission.
Read the reconciliation instruction
Select Open RTI payment guidance. For a missing payment reference, the portal advises waiting 24–72 working hours for reconciliation. Follow its warning against paying again merely because the registration number has not appeared.
Check the existing application status
Choose REGISTERED USER LOGIN HERE(TO VIEW STATUS) on the portal. Compare the status with the references you saved. If you cannot access a status report, note that problem for RTI help instead of treating an inaccessible screen as a failed payment.
Open RTI portal to check existing statusSeparate a new fee notice from a missing reference
The guidelines say the PIO may notify additional information-supply costs online and by email, with the notice available through Status Report. Read an actual notice before treating it as a new payment instruction; it is different from an unresolved earlier transaction.
Give support a precise reconciliation question
Use the RTI help email shown in the guidelines with the available transaction or registration details. Explain what is missing and what the status page shows. Retain the reply with your records; neither this guide nor a bank debit establishes a refund or successful filing.
