Keep the original application reference
The guidelines require the original application’s registration number for a first appeal. Keep that number with the request, acknowledgement and any reply; do not substitute a bank transaction or payment reference.
Organize the issue before opening the form
For your own preparation, note the information originally requested, any reply received and what remains unresolved. Keep the relevant dates together so you can explain the sequence accurately.
Use the appeal route named in the guidance
Select Open official RTI appeal guidance. The guidelines name Submit First Appeal. If that option is unavailable in your session, ask RTI help how to reach it; starting another RTI application is a different task.
Link the appeal to the right request
Use the original registration number and follow the appeal form’s current instructions. Check the reference and contact details before submitting. The guidelines ask for a mobile number for SMS alerts.
Keep the appeal’s own acknowledgement
Save any appeal acknowledgement separately from the original request’s acknowledgement. For later checks, the portal offers REGISTERED USER LOGIN HERE(TO VIEW STATUS); its guidelines describe status checking for both requests and first appeals.
If the reference or route remains unclear
Use the RTI help email listed on the official portal. Provide the original registration number and explain whether you cannot locate the appeal route, submit it or find its acknowledgement. This guide does not determine appeal grounds or timing.
