Have the receipt ready
Find the case type, filing number and year on the receipt or filing papers. Use the filing number for this search, rather than substituting a registered case number.
Open and complete the form
Select Open filing-number search. Choose Case Type, enter Filing Number and Year, complete the displayed code, and select Show. The court page provides an audio option for its code.
Match the returned record
Compare the parties and filing details with your receipt. If a registered case number is shown, keep it with the filing reference so you can use the appropriate search later.
If the reference does not work
Check the case type and year before trying again. If your papers show only names, use the related party-name guide. Ask the person who filed the matter or the registry to clarify an uncertain reference; do not guess a different number.
