Start with the main reference
Use the type, number and year identified as the main case in your papers. Keep your own case reference beside it. If the papers list several cases without identifying a main case, ask the filing advocate which reference to search.
Enter the main case, field by field
Select Open Main Case Number search. In Nature of Case, choose the recorded case type; the initial “- ALL -” selection is not confirmation of a type. Enter Case Number and Year separately, complete the pictured code, and select Show.
Make a reference list from the results
For each entry that appears relevant, note its complete type, number and year and compare the parties with your papers. Keep separate entries separate. A shared main reference is a reason to check each record, not to copy one case’s status or order to all of them.
Check each identified case
Use Open individual case status for a case you have identified. Match its type, number and year again. Keep its status and documents with that case’s reference, especially when several connected entries have similar party names.

Recheck which reference was described as the main case. An empty result does not establish that no related matter exists. For a page problem, use Open e-Sewa contacts; keep the page name, search reference and error text ready. Ask your advocate about the relationship between cases.
