Prepare

Optional: note transaction dates, amounts and the platform involved. Never share OTPs, PINs or passwords with anyone offering help; our site does not need them.

Step 1

Call toll-free 1930, which the PIB release says assists in lodging online cyber complaints.

Step 2

Open the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in); the release says it accepts reports of all cyber crimes and runs the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System for financial frauds.

Step 3

Follow the official portal’s current instructions and keep any acknowledgment it provides. Enter private details only through the official service.

What to check

Check that you receive an acknowledgment or complaint number. The release says complaints are handled by State/UT police; it does not guarantee recovery.

If you need help

If the online service is unavailable or you need help finding the reporting route, use 1930. Our guide and AI cannot receive or investigate a complaint.
